Nine years later the Red Dwarf crew are older but still none the wiser. Lister's busy day of annoying Rimmer is interrupted by the discovery of a dimension-hopping leviathan in the ship's mile-deep water tank.

The goal of the Handbook is to be a signpost, a source of practical information and content that bridges the gap between new users and the platforms and resources that are available, but not always very accessible. The Handbook will be slowly filled with articles written by invited artists and specialists, talking about their tools and ways of working. Some articles are introductions to tools, others are descriptions of methodologies, concepts and technologies.
When discussing software, the focus of this Handbook is on Free/Libre Open Source Software. The Handbook aims to give artists information about the available tools but also about the practicalities related to Free Software and Open Content, such as collaborative development and licenses. All this to facilitate exchange between artists, to take away some of the fears when it comes to open content licenses, sharing code, and to give a perspective on various ways of working and collaborating.

ABC iView is a new way to watch TV - a free internet broadcasting service that lets you watch ABC programs on your computer. We've created iView for the growing number of people with high speed internet connections (ADSL2, 1.1Mbps connection speeds), who want good quality pictures and great content to watch on their computer or web-enabled TV.
If your connection speed is slower than this, you won't get the best out of iView. Instead, explore other ways to view ABC content online. Watching ABC iView may affect your internet service provider download quotas - check out the list of ISPs who allow unmetered access to iView.

excerpts from a performance by HAMMERHAUS (Hanfreich and Theinert) at "Württembergischer Kunstverein Stuttgart" in November 2006.
The visual piano is an instrument which makes it possible to create moving images in a space. It is unique and was conceived and developed by the photographer and light installation artist Kurt Laurenz Theinert in collaboration with the software designers Roland Blach and Philip Rahlenbeck.
Using a MIDI-keyboard it is possible to generate varying graphic patterns which can be digitally projected onto one or more screens. These dynamic and immediate drawings in light are not (as with VJ soft-and Hardware) generated by pre-recorded clips, but every moment of the performance is being played and modulated live and in real time via the keyboard and pedals.
Hammerhaus is currently showing in Sydney as part of the Smartlight festival

For the third successive time the center of Eindhoven will be the stage and podium for GLOW ... From 7 to 16 November 2008 tens of works can be seen and experienced along the route, which are developed by artists and designers from home and abroad. This open air exhibition provides a fascinating spectacle of applied light art and design on landmarks and other unique locations in, what else, Holland’s City of Light!
The works show different and experimental applications of light art and design which were developed by using new media technologies such as computers, sensors, animation, but also with better known projecting techniques. Interaction with the visitors plays an important role. Because the public space is the stage, the city’s center of Eindhoven will transform into a open air museum for 10 ten days with surprising and radiant results!

In the last decade stencil art has evolved into a respected and well refined art-form. Originating in graffiti and street art, or urban art as it is often called, it has spread all over the world, and from the streets into galleries and exhibitions spaces.
Urban Art Agenda was launched in 2007 and presented in Melbourne and Perth. It brings together some of the most prolific stencil artists from around the world in a unique showcase.

Urbain - Graffitis Art
Marseille - Damien Leclere
view catalogue and results
A “Urban Art - Graffiti” auction was held last May 14th in Marseille in the auction house Damien Leclere. This is the second of its kind. This time 236 lots were submitted, 73 were awarded and the remaining 163 have been losing. Crash and Jone One shall surpassed the 10 000 euros but the majority of the proposed artwortks have been purchased less than 3000 or even 2000 euros. Banksy’s piece, Paparazzi Rats, has gone for 10 500 euros, however, just at the beginning of its estimated range. As for stencil therefore, the artists Epsylon Point, YZ Open Your Eyes and Poch were represented but the YZ was the only to be left unscathed. Her work with marker pen on canvas, Open Your Eyes Letters, was auctioned for 1,500 euros. The graffiti pieces eighties like Jon One’s remain a blue chip for buyers as Banksy obviously. Regarding the remaining 98% of the street artists, the reserve price have been decreased after the ranges estimation have climbed really high for artists without any quoted value. Anyway we look forward to the upcoming dates in Paris: June 20th, the very first sale of Street Art by Million and Associates, and June 29th the biannual Street Art auction by Artcurial.
