A series of lectures, presentations, discussions, and a publication on current articulations of the notion “producing knowledge” in contemporary art practices. Four different sessions take place every Saturday during the period from 25 November to 16 December 2006.

Artists as (Public) Intellectuals considers how the definition of the term “intellectual” in a broader sense might be expanded by thinking of artists as “knowledge producers” and thus as a type of intellectual, and discusses the ethical, political, and social implications of defining artists in this way.

Screening of filmmaker and writer Trinh T. Minh-ha’s most recent film followed by a public reading of one of her texts.


Opening hours of the solo exhibition by Aernout Mik Raw Footage/Scapegoats:
1 October until 24 December 2006, Wednesday–Saturday 12.00–17.00 hrs and Sunday 13.00–17.00 hrs. The exhibition's opening hours are extended on Saturday 25 November, Saturday 2 December, Saturday 9 December and Saturday 16 December from 12.00 hrs to 20.00 hrs.
