PANEL: FILM & GAMES - OPPOSITES ATTRACT
Games based on film licenses have been an important part of the videogame industry since the beginning of professional game development. The film and games industries are now starting to collaborate in different ways. Moderated by Bruno Felix (Submarine), this panel will discuss the following topics: the market for European film games; the emergence of indy and arthouse games; and the opportunities for creative collaboration between film and game professionals. With panelists Alexis Nolent (head of World Wide Story Design at Ubisoft),
Ian Verchere (Creator and and producer of over 30 games, including the million-plus selling SSX Tricky and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), and Jay Bennett (producer, director, and writer of cross-platform interactive entertainment).

HOT SPOT #003 VIRTUAL WORLDS: DONT'T BELIEVE THE HYPE!
In the face of a fading Second Life hype, Hot Spot #003 will explore the many possibilities and as-of-yet unfulfilled promises of virtual worlds. Hot Spot guest curators Martijn de Waal (writer/researcher) and Femke Wolting (director of Submarine) will discuss the latest developments with three key note speakers: Peter Marx (develops online worlds for MTV, such as Pimp my Ride), Douglas Gayeton (director of the first film shot entirely in Second Life), and Chris Carella (Creative Director at The Electric Sheep Company).

The Minimovies project explores a new narrative and visual style of filmmaking and shows that the documentary format is flexible and capable of re-inventing itself in the emerging distribution channels like online video channels, iPod and mobile phone.

Film premiere: ONCE
The award winning film, written and directed by John Carney. A narrative strung together by pop songs.

FORGET THE FILM, WATCH THE TITLES
The art of title sequence design. Danny Yount, creative director at Prologue, presents his work. Plus a compilation program with a selection of the very best contemporary title sequences.

CINEMA 2.0 - USER-FINANCED FILM
Kinooga.com founder Max Keiser and A Swarm of Angels creator Matt Hanson present their projects and discuss the crowdsourcing of film production with Bruno Felix (director of Submarine). Max rocked Hollywood with his Hollywood Stock Exchange venture and remains the godfather of "prediction markets". Max' latest project Kinooga promises to set the standard for user-generated television and film production. Matt Hanson is a film futurist, writer and filmmaker who has created a series of projects that explore cinema's future, incl.: the pioneering film festival OneDotZero, book projects such as The End of Celluloid. Matt will present his open source movie project A Swarm of Angels.

Michael Schaap, aka MacDocMan, has been scanning every nook and cranny on the Internet to uncover the very best video blogs.

Feature Documentary: HELVETICA
