Kamagurka - Live Stream
24 hrs ipad performance
Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam
Mobile technology has changed the face of contemporary art drastically. Many artists as well as art institutions use smartphones, iPads and other mobile media to innovate their practices and explore new platforms of presentation and display.
Following the Play It! evening at The Temporary Stedelijk, that examined gaming as a new tool and strategy in contemporary art, Move It! @ TS2 takes a more general perspective and aims to discuss how pioneering technology for mobile applications change both contemporary art production and the way we perceive modern and contemporary art.
Follow Kamagurka live from March 31, 12 am - April 1, 12 am:
Video streaming by Ustream
Kamagurka: March 31, 12 - April 1, 12
The main event of Move It! is a 24-hour performance (by acclaimed artist Kamagurka, who will produce works on his iPad in situ, which will be printed and directly installed in the gallery space he occupies.
You can walk in all night, see the work already on display, look over Kamagurka’s shoulder and maybe notice that it is you he is drawing! All the works created in the 24-hour performance will be published in the tabloid format of NRC Handelsblad the following day.

The Windmill Farmer from Joaquin Baldwin on Vimeo.
"A nurturing farmer in is danger of losing his crop of windmills when he struggles against the cyclical forces of nature.
Created at the UCLA Animation Workshop, with music by Nick Fevola.
This film was inspired while driving back from a trip to Palm Springs, when my partner said that it must take them forever to plant and grow so many windmills. I wrote down the title The Windmill Farmer for an idea to explore later, and about a year later I started developing it into a character and story.
This film took 4 months to complete from the first boards until the final mix."

The Witness - Interactive Film
The Witness - The first movie in the outernet
Merging reality and fiction in an interactive game!
As part of a relaunch for Germany’s Universal 13th Street (TV Channel), a revolutionary new film, The Witness, has been created in which you play an interactive, traveling roll. Using augmented reality on an iPhone, participants begin their adventure by witnessing a kidnapping by the Russian mafia. It’s then their job to track down the victim, finding clues, communicating with other participants and viewing other scenes on location around the city of Berlin. Much like the real life book series 'Choose Your Own Adventure', participants can both save the day or become the next victim themselves. Contestants can register at the site and on april 9 they can go into the city of Berlin to solve this crime!

Stockholm Street Art Tours
Our guide is Tobias Barenthin Lindblad, an editor who has worked on several books on Scandinavian street art.
Because street art in Stockholm tends not to last too long, it’s in the dark caverns of the city, under bridges and underground stations, that walls become the artists’ galleries. Some, such as Hop Louie, known for his overtly political stencils, Klister Peter and Akay have built up reputations and followings.

Communications consultant Benke Carlsson recently published a book entitled “Street Art Stockholm”. He became interested as an observer rather than a participant, and sees his book more as a view from the outside. “Many people’s first reaction to street art is that it’s vandalism, but I feel that we need to have something more than advertisements decorating our streets,” he says. “Street culture is a means of expression and doesn’t necessarily have to be pretty. It’s about who has the right to public space.”

Copyright Infringement
Article: Is a Cease and Desist About Irony, Hypocrisy or Legal Strategy?
"Indeed, a quick Google search will show that doing IP and trademark research, and sending out cease-and-desist letters, are a regular part of a legal intern’s job description. These letters are sent out with no greater strategy in place than to cast a wide net in hopes of catching all potential offenders. ...
Sometimes an artist may very well file a suit only to stake a claim — to pee on the post that marks the artist’s territory. As the ability to poach artwork with ease grows, so, along with it, does the necessity of producing, what is now being termed, a “chilling effect” to strike fear into the hearts of would-be offenders. ...
The thing to keep in mind in many of these cases is that what looks like hypocrisy in the broad view, may also be good business when it comes to trademark and copyright maintenance. An artist (or corporation, or artist run corporation) must keep the brand in the forefront of people’s minds, clear and unsullied by distractions."

Sydney Street Art Tour & Book
Melinda Vassallo: author of Street Art of the Inner West
http://www.finelinedesign.com.au/books-street-art.html
Sydney’s inner west is uniquely rich in street art and has some of the best examples in Australia. This is despite the fact that many landmark pieces have disappeared due to high-density housing construction and increased renovation of buildings.
Street Art of Sydney’s Inner West a pictorial reference book is a celebration of 30 years of street art and the artists who create it.
Meet the artists and their crews in their own words and art.

Altered Egos - London
Graffiti documentary - London part 1
A unique insight into UK grafitti culture/art. By letting some of the most respected artists speak for themselves, the film explores what drives 'writers' to go to such lengths to get their work out to the public, how it feels to take such risks and ultimately, what grafitti means to each of them.
