Backjumps - The Live Issue

During the period from mid- August until the end of October, parallel to "Kunstherbst Berlin" and with Kunstraum Kreuzberg/Bethanien as the core exhibition place, international Street- and Urban Art artists from New York to São Paulo will be presenting their work in Berlin once again. In 2003 the foundation for the reflection of the interdisciplinary interfaces and advancements in the Street Art sector was laid - this year we will consequently build up on this foundation. Berlin as a city with its streets will be more involved and act the role of a “live magazine” – whole facades will be reutilized innovatively by artists, decentralised exhibition rooms like galleries and public space along with the Bethanien will dilate the focus beyond Kreuzberg. Workshops, walks and city maps will guide the residents and visitors through the “magazine pages” of the city and motivate them to actively explore their city and participate. This way, the experimental character of the exhibition and its art form will come more to the fore this year.
